In the past few decades, population has exploded whereas the resources remain largely limited. The scenario creates a situation of inequilibrium.Hence, governments and organisations are placing a lot of stress on efficient waste management. The three Rs are basically parts of the waste hierarchy pyramid. Before the three Rs come Minimisation and Prevention while energy recovery and disposal after it. In this article, we aim at understanding the 3R and Computer Repair (under it).

The Waste heirarchy pyramid (in successively decreasing order of desirability of principles ) is to Prevent, to Minimise, to Reduce, to Reuse, to Recycle, to Recover and to Dispose. Reduce is the primary and the most favoured of three R s. Reduce includes the principle Re - think . To put it straight, reduce refers to being wary of your resource spending.

After reduce, comes Reuse. Its most essential element is Repair. It basically urges to use already used articles again. Common day examples include using the empty side of printed paper again, handing down of clothes to younger children, reversing the sides of a paper envelope to make it into a new envelope etc.

Instances of reuse include reversing the fold of a used envelope to make it usable again, using one side photo copied paper from the other side and handing down or selling clothes that you have grown out.

Recycling is the last of the three Rs . Waste should not be recycled blindly.Reuse has to be considered first because recycling consumes energy. Plastic containers, glass bottles and old newspapers are among the most recycled materials. The major distinction between recycle and reuse is that recycle makes an object usable only after you use some energy on it.

Computer repair is a part of reusing and more aptly repairing. Computer parts are the most mismanaged waste materials. What do you do with a keyboard after it begins slurring letters? You just throw it out. The same end is met by modems, computer mice, UPS (es) etc.

Only in few cases the local tech. Man is called or other commercially available services sought. Individuals especially do not pay any heed to repairs. Offices of Companies engage computer repair services to cut costs.

The solutions can be simple(like if your key board goes bad, turning it over and tapping it a few times will unstick the keys from the bases) or a little more complex (like virus removal) but calling help seems to involve a lot of time. So, we just buy it new while coming back from work. Computer repair saves you on a lot of money too. Reckless replacement of repairable computer parts is harmful to the economy besides causing the hyped environmental damage. The discarded parts are not even recycled properly. It is high time that Three R and computer repair establish firm ground in our modern lifestyles
